Swim Ontario recommends Clubs and Club Officials Chair (COC) plan additional in‐person clinics in order to train their officials for upcoming swim meets. In‐Person Officials Clinics remain an integral part of the training and evaluation process for all Level I and Level II Officials. This facilitation of training includes instruction, discussion, Q&A (questions & answers) that is provided in a group setting at a location. The course conductor should review and know the material before presenting the material, with a view to having questions and answers discussed with the mentor present, including previous experiences and handling of situations to be provided in a dialogue.
Guidelines and Requirements for Officials Clinics presentations:
In order to help with educating officials in Ontario, Swim Ontario has created an optional registration of upcoming clinic information. Club Official Chairs can enter contact email as well as link for registration to the clinics. We encourage Club Officials Chairs to share information and pool resources to help develop officials by co-hosting these clinics. Everyone benefits from collaborations as more officials get educated and involved in officiating in Ontario. Click on "Promote Clinic " button at top of page in order to advertise upcoming clinic (optional). To view upcoming clinic in your area click on "Future Clinics" button at top of page.
Register Clinics with Swim Ontario - Mandatory
Once the clinic is completed the COC will share the SIGN IN form and other collected documents with the Club Officials Administrator (COA) - if different from COC - who can then enter the information into the Swimming Canada registration system.
The COC will register the clinic details with Swim Ontario once the clinic is completed (mandatory). Click on "Register Clinic" button at top of page. All COMPLETED clinics must be registered with Swim Ontario.
